A Sky-High Adventure in Detroit

On a cloudy, windy day in Detroit, I embarked on one of my most daring drone flights yet. With overcast skies and a brisk breeze, I decided to push the limits and take my drone to new heights. I remember the moment vividly—hovering at an impressive 850 feet, right next to the towering Ambassador Bridge. The footage I captured from this altitude would later play a crucial role in a separate project.

I parked my car at the base of the bridge and launched my drone from there, fully aware that this was probably the riskiest maneuver I’d attempted so far. Back then, before the 400-foot altitude restriction became a hard rule for drone pilots, this was as high as one could reasonably go without breaking any regulations—or perhaps a few nerves.

The footage was eventually used in a music video I produced for Gabe Sinclair’s track, “Way Up,” adding an exhilarating perspective that truly complemented the song’s high-energy vibe. Looking back, it was an unforgettable experience that tested my skills and pushed the boundaries of aerial filmmaking.
